Macedonia challenges Greece's claim to Alexander the Great with giant statue - Telegraph:

No question. Greece has a region called Macedonia.

But also no question. The Republic of Macedonia, formerly a part of Yugoslavia, has a right to call itself Macedonia.

I致e spent time there. I like the place and like the people. Greece shouldn稚 be bigfooting these people in the world community. (And Greece has bigger issues in trying to right its own ship.)

And, by the way, the United States of America is just part of America. But I don稚 object to people calling it America. Nor do I object to the fact that America is the name of a very popular soccer team in Mexico.

Mizar - Konstantinopol

Mizar are legends in the Balkan music scene. Guitarist and band leader Gorazd Capovski, also of Kismet, founded the band in the late 1980s, and has honed the band痴 sound into a mixture of post-punk, Byzantine chant and Macedonian ethnic music, giving it a feel something akin to the Sisters of Mercy in an Orthodox church.

Talks betweenNikola Gruevski痴VMRO-DPMNE party, who won the parliamentary elections at the beginning of the month, and the most popular Albanian-minority party,DUI, have opened talks to form a new government, having previously been in coalition before the elections.

As VMRO-DPMNE lost 7 seats in the election, the DUI are expected to use their enhanced position to push for more power in the new government, with current deputy BLAH representing them in the talks.

One of their key demands will be for the PM to seek a quick solution to the ongoing naming dispute with Greece, which has been furtheraggrievedtoday after work began on erecting a statue of Alexander the Great in Skopje.
